This is a 14×14 Supra Cometto trailer with 338 wheels that has a 450-ton capacity and a 1000-ton capacity under specific circumstances. When empty, the trailer is just under 300 tons. A 425-ton tunnel boring equipment is the trailer’s heaviest load to date. The 370-ton piece of electric machinery that was moved was from their power plant. This technology only makes use of enormous tractor units in groups rather than motorized bogies on the trailer.

In Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ, unlike the United States, Gᴇʀᴍᴀɴʏ, Iɴᴅɪᴀ, and Jᴀᴘᴀɴ, no loads are transported by train since our large open spaces are perfect for moving heavy machinery.” These two images depict one of the largest on-highway vehicles in the world, which has five Ultra Pacific trucks with 4000 horsepower and a gross combination load of 860 tons and a 370 ton Siemens generator stator. 160 meters overall. The 425 ton tunnel boring machine, which weighs 950 tons in total, was the biggest weight ever transported on beams.”

The largest service provider in the world that specializes in lifting and moving heavy objects is called Mammoet. The basic concept is to create Trailer Power Assist, a heavy transport solution (TPA). Since these trailers will be hydraulically driven, merging many trucks will not be necessary to move large, heavy equipment. You may have observed in the past that large cargo is typically transported in four or five trailers (many trailers). Two or four trucks are used at the front of the movement to steer it, and two or four trucks are used at the back to support the heavy machinery or cargo. The trucks have limited movement and are mechanically attached.

The leading producer of heavy transport vehicles, SCHEUERLE, and Mammoet collaborated to develop the innovative TPA-system. The SCHEUERLE K25 trailer, on which TPA is based, is equipped with a Power Pack Unit (PPU) that hydraulically powers 4 of the trailer’s 6 axle lines. Depending on the arrangement, the PPU is positioned at either one or both ends of the trailer. It can also be installed on the prime mover to take the place of the counterweight for traction. A 1,000 horsepower and over 40 tons of traction power MTU V12 diesel engine that complies with all emission regulations powers each PPU. For all weather extremes, the TPA system is designed.
